Beta blockers block beta-1 receptors in the heart, so heart rate and blood pressure go down.

From slide to memory in a few minutes

  1. 1

    Snap your lecture

Photos of slides or handwritten notes, a PDF of the deck, or a YouTube lecture.

  2. 2

    Check the facts

ForgeStory pulls out the testable facts and splits the lecture into short lessons. Every fact shows the slide it came from.

  3. 3

    Learn the scene

Each fact becomes one character in an illustrated scene. Tap a number, or play the narrated tour.

  4. 4

    Keep it

Recall cards come back right before you would forget them, and NCLEX-style cases make you apply what you learned.

Pictures get facts in. Practice keeps them.

ForgeStory pairs memory scenes with the study methods learning researchers rate most useful: practice testing and spaced practice (Dunlosky et al., 2013).

Active recall

Every lesson ends with you pulling the answer from memory, then checking it, with the picture hidden so you learn the fact and not just the drawing.

Spaced review

Cards return on a schedule built around forgetting, and tighten as your exam date gets close. A few minutes a day keeps a whole semester fresh.

Applied practice

NCLEX-style cases with vitals, nurses' notes and select-all answers make you use the fact, with a rationale after every question.

Memory scenes work best for lists, drug facts and values. For mechanisms and clinical judgment, lessons lean on step-by-step explanations and case practice.

Pick a look you'll remember

The same rules in every style: one character per fact, numbered markers, and no words in the picture.

Questions

Where do the facts come from?

From your own slides, notes or video. ForgeStory only uses facts it finds in what you add, shows you the source of each one, and lets you check them before anything is drawn. If you type a topic instead, it says the facts come from standard nursing references.

Is my material private?

Yes. Your lectures and lessons are visible only to you, and you can delete them, or your whole account, at any time.

Does it help with the NCLEX?

Every lesson ends with NCLEX-style questions, including cases with vitals, notes and select-all answers, and your reviews can be paced to your NCLEX date. It is a study aid, not a full NCLEX course.

What counts as a lesson?

One memory scene with its tour, recall cards and questions, usually 5 to 9 facts. A full lecture deck typically makes 4 to 8 lessons, and you choose which ones to build. Reviewing and practising is always unlimited.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. ForgeStory is built phone-first. Open forgestory.ai in Safari or Chrome and add it to your home screen for a full-screen app. Native apps are on the way.

Why pictures?

Picture mnemonics help most with lists, drug facts and values, the things nursing school asks you to memorize. They work best followed by recall practice, so every scene ends with ForgeStory quizzing you without the picture.
